Kids Clean-Up!

Come join the Southington Land Conservation Trust and KinderWild Nature-Based Play & Learning to learn about how kids can help the Earth and join us as we clean up the pond and surrounding area at Panthorn Park. Bring gloves, a bucket or repurposed bag, and grabbers if you have them. We'll have a limited supply to lend out as well.We'll meet in the clearing just over the bridge by the pond. Earth Day Cleanup

Southington Land Conservation Trust

Join us at near the Quinnipiac River to clean up this boat launch area for Earth Day with the SLCT. Bring gloves, grabbers if you have them, water, and a bucket or re-used bag to collect the litter. One of Connecticut's leading chapters of the Disabled American Veterans, a national 501(c)(4) non-profit Veterans Service Organization dedicated to honoring those who served and building better lives for America's disabled veterans and their families. DAV Hardware City Chapter 8 is the proud founder and organizer of Wreaths Across America of New Britain, a major project that raises upwards of $20,000 every year to place some 1,400 holiday wreaths upon the resting places of those who served and those we've lost interred at New Britain's Fairview Cemetery. DAV Chapter 8 is also the proud Host Sponsor of the Golden Kielbasa Veterans Open, one of Connecticut's largest veterans charity golf events that has raised more than a quarter million dollars for veterans causes.

The mission of House of Heroes Connecticut (HOHCT) is to recognize, honor and serve Connecticut military and public safety veterans in need (or their surviving spouses) who have served our country faithfully and sacrificially. We do this by providing one day, no-cost home repairs focused on safety and accessibility. The Connecticut Chapter is part of a national 501(c)(3) Veterans Service Organization based in Georgia that has served more than 2,400 veterans in 18 states since its founding in 2000. HOHCT has served nearly 300 veterans in more than 70 Connecticut communities and eight additional states (as of April 1, 2026) since its own 2012 founding.
