Description

Pathways/Senderos is seeking passionate, community-minded individuals to join our Board of Directors. Our board plays a vital role in advancing the organization’s mission to support and empower youth and families in New Britain through education, mentoring, and out-of-school-time programming. We are especially interested in individuals with experience in: finance or accounting, fundraising and development, marketing, communications, or public relations, education, youth development, or social services, and legal or nonprofit governance. Board members serve as ambassadors for Pathways/Senderos, provide strategic leadership, and help ensure the long-term sustainability of our programs that serve middle school and high school youth. Commitment: Monthly meetings and committee participation. If you are looking for a meaningful way to give back and make a lasting impact in our community, we would love to connect. To express interest or learn more, please contact Heather at hmills@pathwaysnb.org

About Pathways/Senderos Center

The Pathways/Senderos Center was established in January 1993. The community-based after-school program targets youth experiencing poverty and their families in New Britain for comprehensive, holistic services designed ultimately to prevent teen pregnancy. We use a case management approach to provide long-term, intensive services for youth and their families. Our program model includes seven integrated components: academic support; career preparation; family life and sex education; violence prevention; recreation/lifetime sports; health care referrals; and self-esteem enhancement.
