OICNB is looking for volunteers to contact former alumni, former employees and board members and businesses to attend our annual gala on June 6th. Volunteers would be making calls or going on social media to find our participants. Volunteers can also design materials to go on our Facebook and website. Our theme this year Is Recognizing our Wins.

About OIC New Britain, Inc

OIC New Britain (OICNB) is the oldest employment and training program in the city and has served over 55,000 people in the greater New Britain area. OICNB for the past 41 years has served youth ages 11 to 24 years old preparing them for the world of work, post-secondary education, the trades and life. Our focus has been on the 12 Career Competencies which are the soft skills need to be successful at school, work and life. These Career Competencies include Digital Literacy, Interpersonal, Communication, Critical Thinking & Problem Solving, Professionalism, Time Management, Adaptability, Customer Service, Job Search, Diversity & Inclusion, Financial Literacy and Academics. OICNB is preparing the future workforce to become great employees, entrepreneurs and citizens with respect for everyone. OICNB operate after school programs for middle and high school youth. OICNB also works with youth ages 18 to 24 years old placing them into careers that will be in demand for Connecticut. OICNB for the past four years has embedded STEM initiatives and programming into our programs. OICNB operates summer youth employment and learning programs in the summer beginning July 1st to August 7th. OICNB is always looking for individuals who want to share their careers, have any special skills and love helping to shape and mode the lives of youth and young adults.
